About Saddle Rock Main:

This is a great area that has had a little activity here and there since the early 1990's. The rock is a volcanic tuff that has some very good rock to some really bad rock much like Leslie Gulch (Oregon/Idaho), Smith Rock ect. You reach this area by heading west on HWY 180 out of Silver City for about 13 miles. Turn left on Saddle Rock Road. After passing two ranch houses, you will pass a cattle guard. Immediately passing the cattle guard you will turn right toward the obvious rocks. To the right as you approach the bulk of the rock is a boulder with two ultra classic toprope problems (chalk mark) left 12A, and (No Nutz) right 11D (both have top rope chains). Continue on to the main rocks for more routes.
