About Owls Head:

This little summit pokes out above the landscape about a mile below the Cascade Lakes on route 73. Over the years it has become the most heavily used top-ropeing area upstate. And for good reason. Its cliff stands right on the summit itself, and the 30-50 foot crack climbs are clean and moderate. Owls Head can be reached via a trail a trail that leaves Route 73 at Owls Head Development. Most of the approach trail is on private land. Please respect thier wishes and park at the first lot right off Route 73.
