Chapel Pond Slab
About Chapel Pond Slab:
This long, clean slab is perhaps New York's most popular climb north of the Gunks. Its 6-7 pitches of continuous climbing make it one of the longest ascents in the east. The slab has the easiest approach in the area as well. Park just south of the pond next to the bridge at the height of the pass. A flat path leads to the rock about 200' from Rte. 73. Descent isnt so simple and some of the down climbing may require a rope. |
