About Warren County Bikeway-Colonel Williams Monument:
| This is a small block of rock with about a half dozen easy boulder problems. Also good as a toprope area for beginners. Being right on the edge of the bikeway, the approach is very easy and can be combined with a pleasant bike/skate/walk/run. |
| Nearest town or city: | Lake George |
| Directions: | Approach 1: Drive south on rt. 9 out of Lake George to where the road rises and the plaque indicating where Colonel Williams Monument is on the left (the signs for leaving the Adirondack park are less that .5 miles ahead). Park just past the plaque on the right, cross rt. 9 and descend the bank through the woods. This takes you directly to the rock. Approach 2: find any access to the bikeway and just follow it until you see the block right next to the path, cant miss it. Closest access to the bikeway is if you continue about 1 mile further south on rt. 9 to rt.149, the bikeway crosses 149 just off the intersection. |
