About Stoney Clove (east side):

Stoney Clove is the most popular spot to ice climb in the catskills. You will probably encounter another party there everyday of the week, not to mention the weekend. It is overflowing with quality routes and has an area that can be top roped very easily by walking three minutes around the back. While it is close to the road, the steep uphill approaches are a good workout and warmup. It is a place of many accidents, and even with it's proximity to the road, rescues can take hours or longer. There is a pay phone nearby, located near the Devil's Tombstone Rangers' station, just south of the parking lot heading toward Phonecia on your right hand side.
Nearest town or city: Phonecia
