The hidden gem of Central New York!

Located just barely across the border of the Adirondack park, this boulder field will be of primary interest to climbers in the almost rock-starved Albany to Syracuse corridor. Hidden along the shores of scenic Nine Corner Lake are dozens of glacial erratics comprised of gritty anorthosite. The boulders range in size from miniscule to monstrous and are loaded with flakes, edges, and coarse slopers. These boulders have seen minimal development, and the majority of the problems have yet to be cleaned and climbed. It appears that the bulk of the problems will fall into the moderate to difficult range. Bring a brush!!

The boulders are on the public lands of the Adirondacks, an area that has always been climber-friendly. There is adequate parking at the trailhead. There is already a trail leading right to the boulders. Development has kicked off, so if you want a piece of the action get out there!
