About Our Lady Of The Island Boulder:

This is a very large glacial erratic that is unfortunately a religious shrine. I've written this description solely for reference purposes. It could have been a great addition to the Long Island bouldering scene. Thin face climbing abounds on this 20 foot tall boulder. It now stands 50 feet across, but I have read reports that said it was 125 feet across before it was locally quarried for its rock. Reading that should make any Long Island boulderer's heart break. You can see pictures of this rock on Google Earth if you click on the point of interests for the Shrine. You can find more info about it online.
