About Island Rock:

A trek out of the city (about a 45-minute drive, Exit 46 off LIE). This is a large gym though an essentially featureless wall -probably 50 routes. Nice people, sometimes nuts with boy scout troops and birthday parties. The staff is great but management is not supportive of the climbing community.
