Description:
This is a very pleasant addition to the Nears. It's a bit short, but there are interesting and engaging moves and a fun crux sequence. There is one section - not the crux - where you need to make a move and the protection may not hold (although it probably would) in the event of a fall. We use Metolius TCUs; perhaps another brand might provide better protection for this part of the route. Certainly though, this climb can be done safely by an experienced 5.6 leader. Someone at his/her limit might be happy to have a #3 or 3 1/2 camalot for the large crack near the top. Good rappel anchor at a sturdy tree.
