Continue along rim below pine tree and bolt anchors, down to end ledge with tiny pine at edge. Good cracks for gear anchor, or long sling to boulder behind; little pine too little, but maybe for backup. Set rope to climber's right of little pine.
This can be done while someone is on KMA. Start at beginning of overhang, straight up, to traverse left along ledge with tiny tree. Get both feet set, because there are only the few thin holds you need to reach the arete edge. The rest is 5.6 and sloped. Harder variation does not traverse left, finishing up on KMA ledge.

The same Mike was on this route this week, and once again I did it too, today. They used the tree, I used the block behind. The traverse is much easier using the ledge for hands, not feet. Even the start can be done in various ways, along with the face. Oddly for Pilot, I found more and better footings than jug hand holds. There are some hollow flakes, so check before hauling up on anything.
John and Mike were on this a few weeks ago, with a triple gear anchor looking like a book illustration of how to do it. Mike did the left traverse, John powered straight up. I tried it later and failed twice to make the traverse. Today, after a warm-up start, it worked nicely again. The arete edge is play-time. Trouble to rig, but worth it if you get it.
