About Uwharries:

small, but a good break from the gym.
Nearest town or city: Troy
Directions: if you are on 220 get off at the bisco exit and drive to 109, from there go left untill you see the entrance of the uwharries, go down the gravel/dirt road towards Badin Lake Rec area. the name of the dirt road is Moccasin Creek, you will stay on this road, past the shooting range, for a little more than 4.5 miles from the entrance untill you reach an area with a camp sight on the right and a pull off on the left. the trail you are looking for is in the back of the camp sight. Its name is TONY (green blaze) and will take you to the boulder field- if you have a trail map the intersection on TONY and Big Rock is right below the boulder field. Please be respectful to the rangers, other hikers, and the rock! there have been people who feel they need to file the rock to be able to climb here- this is disgraceful and needs to be stopped, also when cleaning the boulders please be careful to not scrap the rock in the process and only clean holds you need
