From Boone take the Parkway south to the Rough Ridge parking area. Park here and walk south along the parkway, across a bridge then follow the trail up alongside the rock. If this parking area is full continue south on the Parkway to the next parking then walk to the rock from there. DO NOT park on the grass along the parkway. Also do not hike along the Rough Ridge trail to access the rock; the only legal approach is from below. Environmental issues have been a problem in this area so do not contribute to the problem that may close Ship!! |
