About Chandler Park:
Climbing: Bouldering, Toprope.
This area offers an easy approach to short but sweet pocketed limestone cliffs. Most routes, regardless of difficulty, are no longer than 40 feet, and the descent or approach is always a third or fourth class scramble.
These cliffs are quite unique because of the labyrinth-like corridors that wind through the hillside. Most of the rock is vertical to very overhanging. Unfortunately many of the classics are polished due to the growing popularity of the area and the consistancy of the marble like rock. Quality rock can also be found at the nearby crags along Avery Drive.
Nearly every climb, at both Chandler Park proper and Avery Drive offer a tree or boulder to set up a toprope anchors. Bolted routes can be found on Moffat Wall, East Chandler and along Avery Drive.
Beware of poison ivy and the dreaded foot long centipedes which like to take refuge in the thousands of pockets found here. They are poisonous and I have personally seen one chewing on a large field mouse.
Please respect the park as well as others by picking up your trash. Cig Butts too!!
A little note: there is no way to list all the routes in Chandler. The locals have come up with too many routes using legal and illegal holds that it would be impossible to write descriptions for them. So if you want to make sure you're climbing the right problem, find a local. The ones I have met have been more than happy to show me around.

From I-75(exit 3), proceed west on 21st Street over the tracks. Take a left then continue driving for about 3 miles. There is a large sign written in the hillside that says 'Chandler'. Once in the park pull into the first parking area on the right after passing the softball field. cliffs are located north of the parking lot.
To climb on Avery continue straight ahead on 21st traveling west passing the main park entrance. 21st eventually turns into Avery Drive. Little Germany, Lost City, Vice Grip and Prattville Crag are all located along this road.
To get to Little Germany drive 25 yards past the end of the first cliff formation on your left, then park at the narrow shoulder near the fenced in tanks. Walk up the road about 200ft till you see a big blob of concrete next to the ditch, a well troden path will lead you up the hill to Little Germany.
