Description:

West Face
F.A. Jon Frank, Mark Herndon, Duane Raleigh (1982). The obvious crack on the left side of the main west wall...kinda runout to the first piece -- then a nice short finger and hand crack to a belay cave. Enjoyable. Just like women on mopeds. To get off, unrope and go back into the cave and then up an easy chimney.

5 out of 5 stars one of my favorites

at the top of the pitch, if you don't want to continue up babes on harleys, coil the rope and then head back into the cave to a chimney and then chimney up to top.

Terry said "Do you like thin cracks?" My reply was "I like hand cracks"......Silence is golden. The crack looked sweet enough So I jumped on it for our first climb ever out at crab eyes. Traversed into the crack set a stopper and jammed my fingers as much as I could into the crack. After a few delicate moves set another piece and the crack opened up to rattly fingers. Jamming half my hand in, I really had to crank to keep from falling. Every jam was slipping while I dove in for another and then another. Some power, and shreaded skin saw me through this climb. I was pumped when i got to the top and took my time setting the belay. Fun and painful route.

whew! Seconded. I've been meanin' to get on thinner cracks and this was it. Not sorry to be seconding rather than leading, but sorry it was over so soon. Fun step out right & tricky getting up in the crack. Nice lead, Chris!
