Description:

Route is up obvious black water streak that goes up the middle of Elk Mtn Slab. Route is 205 feet long and can be done in one pitch or two. First pitch (100 feet) - Start at the bottom of a crack/corner system, pull over the bulge and up to the water streak. Once you are over the bulge there is no pro until you get to the belay anchors. Second pitch (105 feet) - Continue up the water streak or on the face to the right if it is wet. Cam placements are availble in a crack about 2/3s of the way up this pitch (below the cactus). Reach a couple of nice bolts below Buns Up and belay.

4 out of 5 stars first outdoor day

Once over the hump in the bottom 15 feet, the rest was a simple walk up.

3 out of 5 stars I hate headers

Crux was the crack at the start and pulling over onto the slab, the rest was cake.

5 out of 5 stars It was beautiful!

Becton lead up onto the slab and backed down, giving up the sharp end. Should have linked the pitches together, but I wanted to offer Becton the lead, which he refused. Finished up on Buns Up.
