Description:

FA: Jimmy, Julie, Renee, Debbi, and Terry. Easiest line up the south face of the Elk Mtn Summit Dome. 60 foot face climb up loose crappy rock with no pro. Start is about 30 left of the left tree on the south face.

Like climbing on glass. Sharp hollow flakes is what this climb is all about. Pull down and youll be fine, but there are a few large sections that are just waiting to fall off. Couldnt imagine on lead.

Cool cool 5.8 face - the start is the toughest part but was kind of a mental breakthrough for me, because instead of thinking about it way too much, I just kept moving while I was fresh & moved right on up. those flakes are shaky-jakies, though! We had set up our rope anchors after Chris soloed "the nose," or "la nariz del oeste"
