Description:

One of the original Broughton favorites put up in 1965. Begins via numerous starts which lead up to the maple tree. Belay anchor. From the tree move right 10ft. across a slab, pull over a bulge, then right to and anchor for Mr. Potato. Traverse rightward along ledges then up a short corner and bolt belay on the left. Move back right and around a blind corner. Free(5.10A) or AO(fixed pitons) diagonally right 20 ft. along the "bicycle path" to grassy ledges and an oak tree belay. Walk off.

4 out of 5 stars Classic!

No matter how long you've been climbing, you have to respect the historic nature of this route. Not only that, it's really fun! The pins at the finish allow one to French Free if it's too stout. For aspiring alpine climbers this is a great practice route. Do be mindful of the poison oak leading off the route to the trail!

2 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

Make sure to protect well for the second on this long traverse. I couldn't find the walkoff and ended up down-leading/aiding the last pitch. Kind of a bizzarre "route"
