Description:

This very popular climb offers three optional starting points. You may climb a corner to an offwidth (5.9) 25 ft. to the top of a large block. Bolt anchor. Or climb on the left via steep steps (5.8)and an offwidth move to the same anchor. Or, on the tight ascend steep columns to a ledge then step up left via a short jam crack and left to the anchor. On the 2nd pitch, jamup a slightly overhung crack(crux) until it eases onto a ledge and bolt belay. Maneuver up to 5.8 left-facing corner, swing right onto a slab (piton) then up an easy blocky section and walk off left. Or from the belay exit up a left slanting crack(20') on steep rock and thin holds.

3 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

Did the 3 "pitches" as one long pitch. Probably should have belayed after the 2nd pitch to avoid killer rope drag. Each bulge you go through has some thought-provoking moves. Great pro.

Led on 1 and 3. Took the harder 1st pitch route through the overhang. 2nd pitch starts with Crux, which kicked my ass 3 times. By the 3rd pitch, I was pooped - so much for stamina. My frist multi-pitch and super fun.
