The Madrone climbing area has undergone a long series of discussions surrounding public climbing access. Currently, there is a detailed plan being formed for the area's use as a public park; the conversion of the area to a quarry was dismissed Spring 2006.
In summary, Madrone is off-limits to climbing as of Fall 2006. Park opening is forecasted to be in 2007 or 2008. Please see www.savemadrone.org for complete details.
Please respect the work of the Madrone Wall Preservation Committee to protect this area permanently by not violating the county's current ban on access.
