Description:

(New,2001)This route ascends the lower wall below Morning Wall and continues through the upper roofs to the top of the cliff about 5.5-5.6 with two variations to reach both Morning Wall belays. Start at the first ledge on the left(small tree) at the base of Hidden Passage chimney. Belay ten feet diagonally up and left of the tree at a one inch vertical crack. Pitch one, Scramble up and right to a two inch crack five feet above the belay. climb the crack and step left about seven feet at its top. Climb up to the right of a right facing corner and wander up to step right onto a large fern ledge. Climb vertical faults to the tree with a sling below the main roof and belay. (about ninety feet,5.5). Variation, climb off the right end of the fern ledge to Morning Wall belay. Pitch two,climb up and slightly left passing a small overhang to its right (crux) heading towards a large notch/right facing corner in the roof, go through the notch and up to the upper roof, climb around its left end and follow a left facing corner to the top (about eighty feet,watch out for rope drag 5.6) rappell from the oak with slings at the top of the route using two ropes and two raps. Variation, traverse right out the hanging face below the upper roof to morning wall anchors (5.6) and rap from the two bolt anchor. A great adventure and cool position.(easy access for toproping the harder routes to the right)
