Description:
A dark, sometimes wet route exists back in the deep recesses of The Great Chimney. Walk about twelve (12) feet back into the cave to a left side ramp work up to a right side cavity, then work your way to the top climbing up ramps, ledges and the final flared chimney moves. This is a good non-roped descent route. However, the top section (fifteen (15) feet of flared chimney type moves) is a bit scary, so if you are unsure of your abilities go ahead and rope up and enjoy the experience! Caving gear is optional. Head lamp is nice!Descent Options:
Walk over to the top of Pillar #2 and descend via Pillar #2’s descent routes (see descent routes for Pillar #2).
