During a wet and cold winter this ice comes in nicely and is sheltered somewhat from the wind and cold with a southern exposure allowing alot of nice sunshine for the frezing cold belayer. |

Directions: | From route 78 take Route 61 North until you see a turnoff for the Appalachian Trail, Port Clinton Ave. Turn right and follow this road for about 2 to 3 miles and park near a small ice formation near some slabs on the left. Park on the shoulder here. Then, hike around the stone wall and down and around the cliff towards the Kernsville Dam. There is a picnic table and out house. The cliff is right here only about a 10 minute hike from the car. |
