About Crack of Earthly Delights (5.9):

Beautiful 2 pitch dihedral. Start by scrambling up the about 1/4 the way up the wall from the downhill end. You start by traversing left, then move up and right on more 4th class terrain. Pitch 1) climb up the right side of the block then traverse left into the dihedral. There are some layback moves and stemming is your friend. Pretty solid 5.9 moves. Plenty of good gear takes you up to a large flake where a belay can be made out left. Pitch 2) Head up and left...take the face to a bolt and continue up to the summit...there is some adventure in there. Walk off to the right (north), and climb back up to get your gear.
Approach: From the Cathedral Spires parking lot along Needles Highway in Custer State Park, head up the trail 15-20 minutes. Bartizan is the large rock wall on the left. leave the trail before the switchbacks and head up and left. No trail. It can be a challenge to find, but is a beautiful line.
