About Eagle's Nest:
From "The Deep South Climber's Companion (by Rob Robinson and Chris Watford)": "In 1960, Tom Kimbro and Tom Martin, armed with an ancient hemp rope and some pointed pieces of steel, headed to an obscure Lookout Mt. limestone cliff called the Eagle's Nest. Over several months, Kimbro and Martin managed to work out a half dozen climbs, ranging in difficulty up to 5.4...but they soon found the rock (at Sunset) much better than the shattered Eagle's Nest Limestone." |
