Description:

Climb out the roof above the chains of "Diving for Rocks" [The original 12a grade was for topping out. That topout is tried alot but few or none succeed--there's hardly any headwall to climb. As of Jan '11, most/all Ascents in the database are not topouts, and opinions average to 11b. I hope no one minds my edit of the route data to 11b. --Hogge] City approved gear added to the roof 12/18/04

4 out of 5 stars Great route

Top out is also lot of fun (definitely at least 5.12a), watch out for the cactus!

5 out of 5 stars No top out

I wasn't gonna post this until I'd completed the top out because everyone knows it's not a 12a if you just clip the chains. However after trying the top out a few times I'm starting to think that with the top out it's quite a lot harder than 12a. Either way I clipped the chains to this route over a year ago and still haven't topped it out.
