Description:

climb a hand and fist crack to the saddle on the right side of the tower. (at 5' & 100#, i did a combo of stemming with the giant flake to the left and chimney moves near the top because the crack was an unfun OW for me). traverse is AIR-Y but fun when it's over.. second pitch is stellar face climbing, as you near the top of the ramp for the bolts, take time to enjoy the view. climb past 5 bolts on the west face. an enjoyable route - the summit kicks some serious ass.

UPDATE the piano-sized block fell out of the chimney separating Easter Island from Sunflower on Easter Sunday, 2001. 2 bolts added to the route subsequently.

5 out of 5 stars Airy, sandy face climbing on a desert tower

Followed Greg on the first pitch. Led the second pitch. Was in the zone. Styled the face climbing. Awesome low summit!

4 out of 5 stars Fun Tower

The traverse on the first pitch has a flake that seemed rather loose (I tried not to use it, but there didn't seem to be another way up onto the ledge)
The second pitch is definatly a little spicy, I felt like I was going to barn-door on the first few moves up the arete, its not too hard.. just balancy, quite exciting

4 out of 5 stars Found a ring

IF you lost a finger ring on the Easter Island Thuderbolt Route please claim it. I don't think it is of great value but it appears to have come from an interesting place.
Please call if you can name what it says on the inside.
