so, it being a month later, I tried "Denied" again, and guess what.... it was pretty easy =) those "sketchy smears" I refered to? Not sketchy at all to me anymore. And getting from bolts 1 to 4? Piece of cake. Woot.
This was the first 5.10c I had ever climbed or led, and boy oh boy what a perfect name for it. It had its way with me to say the least. Took two lead falls, but finally got up it. I'd say footwork is important on this route- I (unsuccessfully at first) did a couple sketchy smears in various places. Good balance is useful too. Getting from bolts 1 to 4 is the hardest part. After that it's pretty smooth sailing.
