Description:

FA: Mike Anderson / This is the awsome north arete of the Great Flake. I am not meaning to sound negative or untrusting, but I don't believe this is climbable. I have personally witnessed 3 compitent 5.12 climbers get completely denied by this arete. Don't get me wrong, this route is beautiful. I really want to climb it. But I just don't have any idea how it is possible. Please Help!

I don't remember how long ago it was, but I've sent the route and I am (as of yet) incapable of climbing 5.13. I also vaguely recall the day Mike FA'd it. Make sure to bring a stick clip as the crux hits just before the high first bolt. Some bouldery and gymnastic moves lead to easier ground after the arete shift. I could tell you the beta, but then that would just be lame. - CW
