| Directions: | From Washington, DC: West on Route 7 past Round Hill. Pass Blue Ridge Mountain Road intersection at the top of the mountain (locals get upset if you call it a hill). Stay right and Pine Grove Road (VA 679) is on the right. If you pass it, that's okay. You get one more chance cuz VA 679 loops with Rt 7. Just slow down and keep your eyes peeled. There is parking on either side of Rt 7. But the North side of Rt. 7 gives the quickest access to the trail. Park near the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) message board. Hike the A.T. Northbound for approx 2.5 miles (moderate difficulty with gear). Pass 2 nice views before reaching the third peak, your destination. The rocks are to the right of the trail. |
