About Rabbit Ears:

Rabbit Ears is nestled along the Table Mtn hike of the PCT. Start at Ft Rains 1mile West of Bridge of the Gods on 14 (park on river side). Hike the PCT for about 5mi and bushwack to the rock. Once you are there: DON'T CLIMB IT. This rock is notorious Gorge riverstone/mud composite. Very loose and dangerous - I mean we didn't even want to yell it looked so precarious. It is beautiful though. This site is listed here so adventurous climbers reading Tim Olsen's book aren't encouraged to trek out here for the climbing. The hike to Table Mtn. is beautiful without lugging your gear.
Approach: Park at Bonneville Hot Springs and walk west on approach trail to Carpenter Marsh. Or hike from end of paved road west of BHS northward on old logging roads to Carpenter Marsh. Continue north of old logging road to PCT at the 1200' level. Cross country eastward thru open forest and ascend a steep ravine. 2.5 miles one way.
Approach Time: Round trip about 5 hours
