Williams version: Various nuts + small cams (various C3-.5 C4) through #2 or #3 C4 (big pieces go in the start crack - you may or may not want the #3). You WILL want small pieces for the upper section. Straight up? I don't know. Edit if you do!

Description:

The guidebooks I've consulted seem to disagree on where this line goes. Cater and Thompson say start in the crack and go straight up to the top. Williams says start in the crack THEN step left and follow the left facing dihedral to the Workman's Comp anchors. Consider these variations I suppose. Start is burly either way but over in a few moves at a terrific ledge. Williams line goes left, a bit tricky, and up to what I called the "contemplation ledge" where you can stand and ponder the crux dihedral before you commit. Top this out and stroll out left to clip the somewhat high anchor bolts; short people may be a bit distressed by this.

Descent Options:

Depends on which line you choose, but Williams says use the two bolt Workman's Comp anchors. Not sure about the other line, but I suspect you could use a tree.

3 out of 5 stars Did the Williams version

step left at the tree and throughout the thin dihedral to some jugs and up to the Workman's comp anchors. There are another set of anchor straight up and all the way at the top of the cliff.

3 out of 5 stars Decent route

Followed William's directions but tok itto the top and then over to the Workman's Crack anchors. Devious little crux if you're short! Thompsen called it 9+

4 out of 5 stars Interesting route

Took the left slanting dihedral/shallow chimney, which is the crux. Very small gear in it to protect a ledge fall. We topped it out rather than moving left to the sport climbing anchors. Anchors would improve this route a lot - the top section is fun.
