Description: A small crag with a small number of routes, some of which have rusty or otherwise questionable bolts. New route potential still exists. Winter sun. Accessibility to most routes depends on the level of the reserviour.
Directions: From Summersville, drive toward Fayetteville a few miles until you see the sign for Whippoorwill Road on the right. Turn off here and drive down the paved road to a dead end and some parking spaces. Walk back up the road to the jeep trail on the right. Follow it down to gully that leads to the lake.
The routes in Cater's 99 book (Bender, etc) are to the climber;s left of the descent trail. Winter of 2006 saw development of new sport and gear routes to the climber's right of the descent trail. (Saddle Sores, Wendy's Jugs, etc)
