Description:
On Plumb Line formation -- the 40' offwidth directly left of the area's namesake route & often toproped from the same (awkward) gear anchor. Well, it would be if it were often tried. C'mon, have a go. Bomb-bay, flaring; fist stacks to wider than fist stacks. The trick is to free up your hands via clever footwork and not get greedy -- tiny wiggles upward. It's only 11b....

Hell of a route. Top-roped this bad boy and actually didn't do too bad the first time - but had no energy left when I went for it the second time. Had to arm bar because my stacked fists were too small - the key is the leg lock to pull you upwards.......

Tried to lead. Tried to climb. Ascended it small spurts on TR. Brutal. When the stacks worked, my feet didn't (bottom). When my feet worked, it was too big for me for fist stacks.

This is the hardest .11b I have ever done. I don't like to whine about Vedauwoo being sandbagged, but this one took a lot out of me. Maybe if I wasn't such a rap bolting wuss, I could recommend this one to a visiting climber. If you want to become a Vedauwoo hero, train by lapping this one a few times.
