Description:

This is the first ridge east of the south central buttress. It can be viewed from Garnett Canyon Meadows. It is the arete 100 feet left of the Open Book. The route stays on the crest at the west edge of the buttress. The first three leads go directly up the crest to an obvious overhang. From this overhang traverse onto the wall to the west and up to a second overhang. The FA party used aid to bypass the second overhang. The next section is vertical with downsloping holds. The lead is about 100 feet and ends with a traverse across some good exposure to a small shelf. The rest of the route is straightforward.
