Description:

The route starts in the black bands. The pitches are almost all very moderate. Most pitches are best climbed as half-pitches (about 25 meters) due to rope drag. There is a cool feature on this route called "The Window". The top out on Petzoldt Ridge is very nice-its like getting a summit half way up the mountain. Then, the common choice is to do one rappel and traverse over to join the Upper Exum route. You can also ascend straight up, but this is steep exposed climbing.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent alt. route

we encountered less traffic than on the other more popular routes. Retreated from top of Petzoldt due to dangerous weather

Excellent climb. Nice position, good rock, good features and a fun top out on the ridge.
