Description:
An classic route put up by the Chicago Mountaineering Club, the typical ascent involves canoeing on two lakes, hiking and spending the night and then 1,000 feet of easy fun technical climbing. The route ascends near a black dike to the summit of this impressive peak.

Want Advice?
1) I STRONGLY ADVISE SCOUTING OUT THE FIRST 30 MINUTES ABOVE CMC CAMP.
2) Leave camp no earlier than 4am.
3) As always watch out for thundershowers around noon.
4) Pack yer gear after you check in at Jenney Lake and get your required bear can and permits.
5) Early in the season means melt water near camp.
6) Sticky rubber trail shoes are perfect. Sport shoes are good for beginners. Take comfy shoes for the walk off and rapp's.

Did the allegedly more difficult arete variation (5.6) in Renny Jackson's book, we still hard to search hard for fifth class rock. This route isn't about the rock or the moves, if it was it would be terrible. CMC is all about the adventure - and it's a good one. We used a rope on-site and generally only set pro at anchors.

Great weather...
...is a must for this peak. We got lucky and had three days of perfect weather for our ascent. Very nice route.
