| Located about 1 hour from La Paz, if trafic in El Alto isn't its usual nightmare, Penas currently has about 30 routes with room for many more. The rock appears to be a type of basalt and is solid in many places compared to the dirt rock of Aranjuez. |

| Directions: | Find Penas on a map. Drive there or take public transportation. The cliffs are totally obvious. If in doubt about where to go, ask at the church to look at the topos. Seriously. The padre is trying to encourage development of the climbing area to help attract tourism to the village. |
