About Camping Galpão de Pedra:

One of the best places to climb in Rio Grande do Sul, Caçapava do Sul has about 50 routes on different rocks. The walking varies from 10 minutes to 2 hours. It has lots of potential for new routes. Just be aware of the lose rocks (it's conglomerate) and use a helmet. The rock are in the private propriety of Sr. Manoel, the owner of the campsite. He charges R$7 for he camp. Use your helmet because of the loose rocks (a lot).. Ask Sr Manoel for his barbecue and Ms. Altiva's (his wife) breakfast...

Directions: From Porto Alegre, go to Caçapava do Sul city thru BR-290 (240km). At the city, ask for Pedra do Segredo.. Take the dirty road (5km). The camp is at the left side of the road...

Access Issues: Most of the climbs are on private land (Mr. Manuel). His campground is great, with hot showers and pool. He's a nice character, who loves to chat by the fire with a cold beer. He charges R$10 per day.
