About Rumney:

Rumney's crags are scattered across the slopes of Rattlesnake Mountain. The popularity of Rumney has skyrocketed in the past few years with the steep schist crags offering the best sport climbing in the Northeast. If you are new to the area it is best to have a guidebook with you or you will get overwhelmed.

Camping Areas:
Camping at Rumney is problematic at best. Most of the area private campgrounds charge $20+ per night and may be closed for the season post-labor day. Forest service campgrounds are the cheapest option at around $16 per night. The landowner of the farm across from the Meadows parking lot allows camping and charges $7/person BUT she wants you to fill out a waiver and does not allow pets on the property. Plus she seems to be aggravated by the increasing hordes of climbers showing up there. Don't count on being able to camp there.

Organic Farm and Educational Homestead is the name of the farm D Acres is located on. D Acres Camping cost between $12 to $35 per nite for sites. The site options include indoor beds, treehouse structures accessible by foot, car camping spots, outdoor platform accessible by foot or car, and barn and indoor sleeping bag spaces. Meals are available (all vegetarian) and breakfast is served between 7-8:30 AM ... all you can eat pancakes for $8. Their site has no camping information at this time, but there is camping. I've asked the owners to update their website.
