Christmas Tree

Rating: 4 - Being short, I used the tree to clip, the climb would be R rated if I fell. Rated G for me, using the tree

Down and Dirty

Rating: 5 - This is a great climb that felt as hard if not harder than access all areas. The crux is definately the crack portion. One could bring a few finger size pieces if they were not comfortable with the bolt spacing.

Short and Sweet

Rating: 3 - Not a bad climb, the first portion is mentally stimulating. The rest is pretty straightforward but seems crowded by the other climbs around it.

A Midsummer Nights Dream

Rating: 4 - for me, a mainly forgettable black canyon route. Crux pitch nice, and the pitch afterward runout and challenging. Otherwise, not noteworthy

Access all areas

Rating: 4 - This is a nice technical route with a little pump to it. The only detraction is how close it gets to the route right of it. The guidebook gives it a 5.10d which I'd agree with. No way is it 5.11a.

Debutante's Ball

Rating: 3 - This route is just up hill from comic relief in the SOB gulley. The bottom 15 ft of the route changed due to rock fall. After first pitch we were lost, and wandered around until we got to the first 11 crux--and arching finger crack. This leads to a ramp where you can bail, or access the top part. first pitch off ledge is bouldery 5.11 to easy climbing. next pitch has a death block in a dihedral you need to climb around-second seek shelter under huge roof. next pitch is rotten, scary, compelling 5.11 to a roof and ledge. Take a # 4 camalot. Fourth pitch comitting slab to a roof crux--more like 11 +. Fifth pitch wander up crack, face and death blocks. Next pitch is off left a bit, a large "black dihedral" minimal gear, committing. After this long pitch is a short easy section to the top. A route for the canyoneer.

Astrodog V 11+

Rating: 5 - We did this on the 4th, in a day. Started at 0500, toped out with a ranger looking on, in the dusk. There are several places we got off route. Right after the first 5.11 crux, we wandered a bit too far left, and climbed a 5.10 dihedral, run out and a bit scary. At the top, there are several options. We chose one on the left-verticle, runout, dirty and brushy. All that said, most of the route was good, clean for black, challenging climbing.
