Australian Classic Climbs - Mt. Tibrogargan, The Caves Route
The classic scramble up Mt. Tibrogargan's eastern face. Glass House Mountains, Queensland, Australia. The rock climbers rate this route at 4 Ewbank but in my view the three pitches are not more difficult than 2. Exception for the base of the "chimney" witch can be a bit tricky (maybe a 14 move). This scramble is very exposed and can be very dangerous if the rock is wet. Beginners and first timers should use a rope and be guided by someone who knows the route and always assess the danger of the climb. The route in my opinion is easy to find because the rock is worn but beware of an arrow painted on a rock at the base of the second pitch, do not follow it, instead keep right. Belay chains are placed very conveniently above the bottom pitches.
