Fourth Annual Mammut Bouldering Championship to be Held at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

After Party to Rock the Roof Late into the Evening

Salt Lake City, Utah (July 13th, 2009) - Mammut Sports Group USA, providers of Swiss quality alpine gear and apparel, announced today that the fourth annual Mammut Bouldering Championships will take place at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market trade show on Tuesday, July 21st. The competition will be hosted on the roof level of the Shilo Inn parking garage (206 South West Temple), in Salt Lake City, Utah, a short distance from the Salt Palace Convention Center. The Championship event attracts the best professional climbers from all over the world to compete for thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Doors open at 5:30pm and the competition will begin at 6:30pm.

In years past, the Mammut Bouldering Championship in Salt Lake has earned a reputation for being the biggest, loudest, and best attended bouldering contest in the country. With over 2000 attendees expected, and over 100 of the world's top climbers competing, the Fourth Annual Mammut Bouldering Championships promises to be the biggest of the season. The championship event will also highlight Mammut Bouldering team athletes such as Paul Robinson and Mammut European teammates Anna Stohr and Magnus Midtboe.

The pro qualifiers will be held on Monday, July 20th, at The Front Climbing Club (1450 South 400 West) at 12:00pm, and registration is open to all who wish to compete. The top ten male and female competitors will advance to Tuesday's Pro Finals, where they will compete on four different routes and will be scored on how much of each route they complete in their five minute time limit. Last years winners included world-renowned climbers Chris Sharma and Alex Puccio.

Attendance at the championships is free for Outdoor Retailer badge holders and will be $15.00 for the general public. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.boulderingchampionships.com. The Mammut Bouldering Championship awards ceremony will be held on the trade show floor at the Rock & Ice Climbing Zone at 4:00pm on Wednesday, July 22nd.

New for this year's Bouldering Championship is the after party that will immediately follow the pro finals. Also hosted on the roof level of the Shilo Inn parking garage, and sponsored by Native Eyewear, the after party will begin at 9:00pm and carry the fun and festivities of the contest through the late evening with live music, dancing and cold drinks.
