I was climbing and i was thinking, what if my hands were so tired that i couldnt hold the rope effectively while belaying. I would tell my partner to wait. What would you do in this situation?

sometime you can put the rope under you feet if theres aledge or on the ground. When i have to get a sip of juice i usually hold it in my teeth but then switch hands real fast so nothing happens. if you go real fast maybe even if they fall you can still catch them? but not if you are climbing at the same time like itsaid in you aquestion.
how do you put that stuff in there about jesus? do I have to write it all the time or can i put something i write in and then make it be in posts that I write? i have some saying sthat are pretty good two and sometimes the ones that other peopke have are funny so i thought i would do it to.

the funny (and very very sad) thing is that i think Weedy was being completely serious... i think he has earned his place on the list of "worlds worste belayers" with his advice to step on the rope to get a drink while belaying...

whysthat an idiot to stand on da ropes? its not cause your hands put dirt in too standinmg on the rope is nothing wrong with it. the said in the new climbing mag that is was a good ways to cheat by standin on the rope when you lead and you can rest withouit your homies nowin you be cheatin? its bs that stanmdin on the rope ios bad and you can out it under you foot for second and its cool. I see good climbers do it like Rich Gottlieb and he's good and he said its ioverstatement that your feet are bad and dirty and they really dont hurt but thats what they say to sell more ropes. and he klnow cause he's workin at the shop i bought my stuff at.

Either way, you actually have a point in the sense that stepping on ropes is vastly overrated. Your hands do put dirt in the rope.
Nothing wrong with rapping the rope around your legs to rappel, and there is nothing wrong with using your legs to wrap the rope while belaying to free your hands. Many good climbers, myself included, often slip the rope under a foot for a moment or two while belaying. It's a nice trick, but hopefully we never have to find out what happens when the leader does fall.
