In reply to: In reply to: Mike getting deployed in just over a month he's going back??? sorry to hear that, Abi. 3 months, this time in Djbuti - Africa. Why? Because the military like to spend our money and he has to go relieve guys that have been out 9 months or more. When he gets back it will be February (he'll miss thanksgiving, Christmas and his birthday AGAIN). Then come May he's out for good (inactive reserves for 4 years - we're praying they won't need him) and he goes into the police academy. So I'll need a climbing partner for the winter :)

In reply to: In reply to: Okay dude give me the particulars!!! I've been wanting to go to the Gunks all summer!!! And as far as Rainier goes, Yes it's worth the trip! I'd even suggest looking into going to the top brother. You have the time to get in shape and RMI will guide your sorry ass the whole way!!!!!! They even have a fund raiser where all you have to do is get like $3000 in pledge money for the Lung Association, then all you need is airfare of which you say you're already planning on going out there!!! Mike, Jeremy (orangekyak) is just starting to lay the groundwork for a mini-gathering at the gunks either the 10/4 weekend or the 10/18 weekend. Looks like it's leaning towards the 18th because Petzl is hosting a boulder comp with all the heavy hitters the weekend of the 4th so town would be a mob scene. As for Rainier, I am heading out to visit but don't know about a summit hike. I just checked out RMI's site. I'm trying to get into shape but getting up to the 2 hours a day, 4 days a week with a 50lb pack fitness reccomendation may be a little tough to get in by next April. Plus the cost of gear alone probably rules it out. Maybe in a few years. They definitely make the climb sound enticing though. No can do the 18th brother. I'll be on the other side of the world!! What's wrong with hanging out with the heavy hitters on the 4th? I'll have to find me a partner and head out for the 4th!!

Morning guys and galls. How was everyone's evening? I actually started cleaning the waste zone that is my room. I have a problem with books, they are everywhere, buge piles of them collecting dust, so I've decided to spend some money, buy some bookshelves and clean up that disaster! Still sore from climbing this weekend and like Mel, found some new bruises this morning in the shower, yay. Oh, and Tai, that old hey? Just kidding, happy birthday, xxoo, W
