I tried it out with my hookers today, but I think I should wait until the snow melts before really making a serious experiment out of this. ;) Snowy hookers worked ok, but I actually prefer my regular tennies better. Maybe it's just cause I've been using them for a few weeks, I dunno. I didn't have to turn my feet sideways with the hookers though, which made it more like being barefoot, and I could definately feel the line better. I felt kinda insecure trying to jump or bounce, but maybe that's just because I've never done it with my feet pointing down the line before. I think I'll try this again this summer and see how it works without all the snow packed onto the shoes.

Yo turtle, whatup? Yea, Chacos work great for me They never get hung up on the line and work great for spins and jumps among other things. If you have a pair try it you'll like it.

Bare foot or shoes, both are the way(s) to go. With all the hype, you've gotta be good with either. Just like line tension, you should try it all, that way your not showing off for your pals at your house, and making excuses when your at thiers!

If you want to slackline in the dead of winter, you might need the shoes, while warm days in the sun allow for the naked-ness.

If you do go with shoes, go for a pair of tennie's that have a fairly smooth sole. Anything with lugs prevents rotationg on the line. I recommend the "Rod LAver" by Addidas. These bad boys are key for slackin' and for Hackin'. One of my bros uses an old pair of Chuck taylors, and loves em'.

As far as bare feet or shoes for busting airs, I like both. I feel a little more ballzey when I have on shoes, cause I've just about ripped a few pigs off during 180 & 360 attempts.

Barefoot is good too, but like said before, it'll work your feet. Barfoot is for sure the natural way to go if you want to feel what you are doing, and bust other tricks too. Kinda like the difference between wearing a condom...or not.

Best of luck!
Sean

I haven't been slacking for long, but I prefer barefoot. I tried using my climbing shoes once during the winter, but I couldn't really feel the webbing and my balance was terrible.

I have to go with shoes. While barefoot does afford more sensitivity to the line, you can still have that with a good low top shoe that has minimal tread, thin midsole and low profile toe box. Some skateshoes, like Adios and Vans, are good choices. Shoes make it easier for me to slackline for longer periods of time and do tricks. Also landings are a lot less heinous on my feet.
