In Maine, there's a state senate race, and the Republicans just release a video saying how the Dem was crazy because she plays WOW and is an idol worshiping Pagan. So naturally, to the comment thread on the newspaper FB page, I said:
"The only difference between a Pagan idol worshiper and a Xian is their idol isn't a dead guy on a cross."

My dad then sends me a message:
"Hey, pagan lover ... Besides the self-centeredness of the entire "I don't need religion" movement (I've heard of Catholic Charities and other similar efforts and all the good work they do ... Still awaiting word from "pagan charities" or "humanist cross" about how they serve others before selves), remember you are in job search mode ... How soon we forget that nothing goes away on the web ... Just sayin"

He loves stroking his 'Catholic Charities'. This may get good, but has poor timing with the upcoming 4 days in a car together...

oh dear... just ask him about the Catholic Charities in Africa that spread the misinformation that condoms spread aids.

when you guys leaving again?

You can always invoke godwin and ask how well the catholic charities did against fascism in europe... The answer is not well, except in the case of Poland and Zegota.

hehe.

Mostly the heel is a bit loose, but I think if they were one 1/2 size smaller, the heel would be good. I let a friend try them on, and he wears 10.5 street shoes, 9 in Anasazi velcros, and these shoes (size 10) fit him perfectly. So, I guess with these ones, the key is to size them down 1/2 from your street shoe, or up 1/2 from your regular Anasazi/Mocc size.

I'm still keeping them, though. They are synthy, so won't stretch as much as my Projects (which I take in 9), and I think they'll be a really good doucherlode shoe, precise, downturned, more durable than my Projects, and long sport routes like that usually don't require super aggressive heelhooks anyway.

And thanks again, grumpy old man! You are not as much of an asshole as ewe think you are. Ok, enough of the spit swapping.

Here's the deal: I get cheap/free climbing shoes because I have man sized feet, you find everything else on the sales rack because you take small or x-small.

You can also wear cute shoes that still look cute on you. You make the same shoes in size 9-10 and they're a bit of a monstrosity.

though dribble did yell at the first poster for basically saying the same thing that I did, which was basically, "yeah, Hollywood is misogynistic; there is nothing unusual about that."

Sadly, the kid section is not very helpful at the moment, because the skinny jeans look absolutely ridiculous on me, and that's all they have right now.

When I read his first comment, I thought it was a joke, based on some other conversation that must have happened that I wasn't privy for, sort of like me telling Paul that I'll cut his rope, or something.

...because I couldn't believe that someone would be saying it FOR REAL.

Silly me!
