What a pussy. At least when mods over here resign, there's real tears involved.

History geeks...y'all watched pillars of the earth, right?

Well, I'm now watching the sequel series to that (it's on netflix) and I have to say it's not as good.

To be fair, I'm also quite distracted at all of the PC++ so I'm probably not giving it a fair chance.

Damn, I may have to go reread from the beginning (not that it will make much sense with the deleshunz). I don't recall seeing anything resign worthy, he went straight to 'poor little martyr, hanging up my hat'.

I watched Pillars of the Earth, but drivel has not. We may have to start it, since it has that hawt ginger from Les Mis in it.

It's more cumulative for him. He's been one of the more level headed, laid back guys on mp for a long time. Also has a pretty solid climbing resume, too, he was one of the Rumney OG developers (probably owns a lot of 30m ropes).

But I have noticed in a couple other non-penis-party threads, he has deleted things, and idiots have yelled "OMG conspiracy" at him. Most recently, there was a thread about climbing in the Deep South, in which some folks including my buddy Blake let some secrets out, then went back and self-deleted their posts. A bunch of grommets blamed M-sprague for that.

he deleted a bunch of cursing from me and a handful of "have you not met our resident nazi" from other peeps.

(in addition to the other stuff he capriciously deleted, like the post with the picture of a goat and my reply to it.)

So, just heard from Tony (Kinetic Tony, not Big Tony, Tony Sartin, or Tony Soprano) about another of our gym members getting injured. This is the third in so many months, after my meatbombz, and another guy's falling off the top of a Coopers Rock H-eyeball.

Anyway, the story: there's a local Columbus guy named Andy Politz, whom I've not met, but is apparently a pretty badass Himalayan nature hiker; he's one of Viesteurs's main partners, has done Everest, etc. There's a whole crew of OSU mountaineering club helmet at the gym-type gumbies who cup the balls of the ground he walks on. He makes a living by charging them all a lot of money to go hiking with him.

Anyway, I guess that recently, he was guiding a charity climb for disabled vets or something on Mt. Washington, and an avalanche hit them and almost killed a bunch of the grupe. I guess that everyone lived, but Andy and his son are injured. A guy from our gym, who is a photographer, was on the trip, too, and is injured, but not sure how bad.

Ugh.

I read that accident report on the MW Observatory page. Why they were stacked as they were...???

Yeah, general consensus among the crew is that the 'guide' royally ducked up and ignored a direct in person warning from a ranger to not take the route they took.

'But I've done EVEREST!' If you read the report from the Avi center, you'll hardcore face palm.
gU

But, yes. fase palm.

I didn't even know that Pillars of Earth was now a series. I liked the books though. But the books got worse as they got more and more verbose (and they weren't exactly thin to begin with).

Did you read the book? I though about it, then saw how big it was...not sure I have the attention span for that anymore, since the last thing I read was the 50 shades trilogy (bad decision).

You need to pay attention. I only read history. And by history I mean not historical fiction. So, no Pillars of the Earth, and no 50 Shades of Pump, or whatever that was called.

I only read 50 shades because every one said it was so dirty, and I was just like 'I bet I've read dirtier stuff on the internet.'

I was right.

So I go out onto the floor to deal with some real work and I come back to an arm full of puppies in the MP thread? That's not so much entertaining. (cute yes, but it doesn't hold my attention).
