Here in New Zealand I've seen VE (I guess for easy) and VM I think it was. No idea what M means though and I don't have the Castle Hill guide that uses it to work it out.

Do you have VD over there? Just curious as I was thinking of perhaps visiting one day. :D

IN the west, our easiest boulder problems are V.B, which is 5.7 and below, so I would say that V.0 is about 5.8/9 maybe.

Personally? No I've never encountered a VD "problem". But you never know where the other climbers have been :P

I prefer the B scale, where B1 was is a problem that many people have done, B2 is a very hard problem that some people can do, and B3 is a problem no one has done (I think it goes like that). Obviously this scale doesn't have a lot of nuance, but it simplifies things.

P.S.

I get a kick out of Roughster and Curt going back and forth; keep up the good work, boys.

just mentionin that ya, climbin and boulderin rating is weird...the best lead climb i have ever done was like 5.10a and ya it was hard! but i can flash almost all V3 problems i try...seems like an unfair comparison or maybe im just lackin in the vertical climbing aspect
