Proof positive in this thread, it seems...

The plural of "anecdote" is not "data." 8^)

Just started trad and out door sport this year, so at Squamish I maxed at 10d sport and I pulled off several 10a trad. I hope to bring my sport up with some work, but then I assume my trad will also increase at the same time.

It's funny cuz I'm more nervous doing sport climb and when climbing trad I get very focused and pull trough the cruxes.

Funny, I never focused on the grades untill I realized that to climb say the sword I needed to be-able to pull through the 11's and so on.......

You don't have to agree with me...for me to be right ;)

I think if you worked on your technique and gave it a good ol' college try, you could be pushing 12's

You know....you are right. I think I can...I think I can...I think I can....

my trad level is a letter or two ahead of my sport level.

I have far better technique in cracks than I do crimp strength on faces.

i climb sport 12c and trad 12b/c...
i think that the only thing holding people back from reaching the same level of trad as they do in sport is their fear. Sometimes you just gotta run it out and not worry...though i'll admit, i usually work out where to place the gear on a hard trad lead before trying to redpoint the sucker...
