at the gym, i get asked, - do you climb outside? weird. the question used to be, 'where do you climb?', not 'is it inside or outside'

In reply to: at the gym, i get asked, - do you climb outside? Yes, that is one of the oddest questions in rock climbing. I mean like, well, whatever. DMT

In reply to: "Why doesn't some one invent suction cups?" "Why do you buy those expensive clips (caribiners) when they sell cheaper ones at Wal-Mart?" "Can I come?" (the Middle school kids I work with ask that all the time... I work in a mental heath facility, I wouldn't trust them belaying me, woud you?.) "Why don't you just use regular rope? It's cheaper..." "Do you use gloves?" "Do you go all the way up?" "What's wrong with your forearms?" I get that a lot about cheaper substitutes... people just can´t conceive a rope costing more than 100 bucks... another one: one day i was top roping a 12 meter rockface in a nearby semi-urban crag when a couple of kids with their moms passed by. One kid says to the other: look, they´re climbing; the other answers: aww, no fair!! thay´re cheating... look at the rope!!!
